While we were on Stewart Island last week Rakiura provided water taxi services to and from Ulva Island and to North Arm so that we could walk part of the Rakiura track. He also took us on a two-hour pelagic tour which was the highlight of our 2 weeks in NZ. He knew the waters of Patterson's Inlet so well!! And so much about all the rare and wonderful wildlife that call the Inlet home, including where to find them without disturbing them. It was totally magical being visited in our little boat by a magnificent sea lion and a flock of white capped albatrosses as well as being able to observe close up little blue and fiordland crested penguins, spotted, pied, stewart Island and other shags. Amazing!! Rakiura was also so flexible and accommodating with our needs with changing weather conditions. Can't say thank you enough for the experience.

My friends and I booked a water taxi to Ulva Island and back as well as a pelagic tour to see some of the wildlife and received exceptional service. Rakiura was very kind and flexible with our timings for the water taxi so we could have enough time to explore Ulva. For the pelagic tour he was kind enough to give us extra time as we were a large group and it made the tour very special. He also gave us the tour at dusk which is not a usual tour time and maximised the chances of seeing penguins (which we did!). 10/10 would recommend - would give more stars if i could!!

Had a great pelagic tour, got amazing views of sea lions, seabirds, penguins, and more. Our captain was extremely knowledgeable and respectful of the wildlife we observed. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to get memorable views of the creatures of Rakiura!
