PolarTourist exists to help travellers compare polar destinations and identify the facts they still need to verify before booking. Destination pages combine a static planning dataset with links to current transport, operator, tourism, weather, and space-weather information where available.

The site does not claim that a score predicts a sighting, that a budget estimate is a live quote, or that a destination tag proves an activity operates on a particular date.

✦ Our Methodology

🌌 Aurora Scores

Destination records contain a static 1–10 planning score. The current repository does not contain the historic inputs needed to reproduce each score, so it should be treated as a broad comparison signal only. Monthly darkness, cloud cover, local weather, and current solar activity still decide whether viewing is practical.

💰 Cost Estimates

Destination records contain daily planning estimates and, for some destinations, category-level budget bands. They are not live quotes or observed averages. Price accommodation, transport, food, and booked activities for your dates before relying on a total.

🌡️ Weather Data

Destination records contain monthly average temperatures, an estimated usable-darkness field, and a broad aurora-likelihood label. They do not contain daily extremes or a full historic climate series. Use them to choose a season, then check a current forecast and authoritative daylight data.

📊 Comparisons

Generated comparisons use the same stored destination fields on both sides. That makes the table consistent, but it does not turn a city pair into a complete country comparison or replace current research on routes, operators, and prices.

Articles are published under PolarTourist Editorial. They do not claim firsthand stays or tours unless that experience is explicitly identified.

A named source link supports a specific claim; the presence of a destination score or database record does not. Corrections should remove or qualify claims that the stored evidence cannot reproduce.
