If you are looking for a modern, minamalistic property, this is not for you! I loved it because it had character and was quirky. It is spacious with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (offering the option of both a shower and a bath), a large kitchen, with plenty of utensils and saucepans, etc, with table and sofa and a good sized living room also with a table. Handy utility room with washing mchine and tumble drier. Plenty of room for a family to spread out. We found it very peaceful and the beds were very comfortable. Books and games are provided. There is a wood burning stove in the living room for you to use but the cottage is very warm and we couldn't have had the stove going too! Around the cottage you will find paintings and ceramics all done by the highly talented landlord, we bought a couple of the ceramic birds. There is parking next to the cottage for one car. Views are superb over Voe pier and bay. Wifi is provided and is good, phone signal, as in all areas of Shetland, is hit or miss, I found making the odd call that I needed to make through Whatsapp worked perfectly. There is a bakery next door that you can get your fresh bread, rolls, pies, etc, from. Coop is around 10 minutes drive away in Brae. Also in Brae is Frankie's Fish and Chip Shop and a Chinese Takeaway, can recommend both! It was a great location for exploring from and I would definitely stay here again.
