I organised a Golden Anniversary meal for my parents at the Merkister and they could not have been more helpful and accommodating. On the evening we were welcomed to a beautifully decorated table with confetti, a card and a gorgeous bunch of flowers! I had also dropped off some little sweetie favours earlier, and these had been added to each place. My mum and dad were delighted! The food was delicious and our waitress (Debbie) was so lovely to chat away to and made the experience even more warm and friendly. Could not recommend the Merkister enough. Thank you again.

We had a wonderful meal at this lovely hotel. The views over Harray Loch are something else (we saw a wonderful sunset). The staff are very friendly and the service was wonderful. One waitress was particularly good. A young woman who had previously lived in Edinburgh but grew up on Orkney. She was lovely and a first class waitress. Nothing was too much trouble. The scallops were something else as was the creme brulee. They even made a little tweet on a meal for my teenager. First class service and delicious food. Couldn't ask for more.

We stayed 3 nights at this very comfortable and friendly hotel The dining room and several of the bedrooms have grand views of the loch and Hoy in the distance. The food is excellent and very well cooked with a steadily changing choice. The seafood starred. So we have much to recommend and good reason to return.
