My family and I stayed for two nights and couldn't have found a nicer place to stay in the UK never mind Orkney! Nicky and Kirsten were truly welcoming and attentive hosts, lovely with my kids (2 and 5) and also a great conversation! Our room was lovely, the beds comfortable and the house was generally a pleasure to be in (a home away from home if I do say so!) Breakfast was always on time (and delicious) and we were never left wanting for anything. Nicky gave us a tour of (the wonderful) Orkney, bringing the history to life, with great facts but also enhanced with nuggets about life on the island(s)...and put up with my (and my eldest's) incessant questions all the way through. Nicky and Kirsten have created a lovely atmosphere in their B&B and it felt like leaving family behind when we left! I couldn't recommend enough and we will definitely be back again!

3 friends and I stayed at Shorelands while walking the St Magnus Way. The walk was wonderful, with beautiful views and fascinating history at every turn. Shorelands was an ideal location for our 6 night stay, and Orcadians Nicky and Kirsten were the perfect hosts. They ensured we had the best possible experience throughout, from the initial booking through seamless transitions at our journeys to and from the island, and on our daily walks. They were consistently helpful, flexible, friendly and generous. Accommodation was comfortable and clean, and breakfasts and packed lunches delicious. Totally recommend!!

Three friends and I stayed at Shorelands when we were walking the St Magnus Way and the accommodation and hosting was perfect. We were met at the airport by Nicky who couldn't have been more helpful in terms of local information and he drove us to and from our start/finish points each day. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast and packed lunches were excellent. Some individual touches to our stay made it special so if you plan to stay here you certainly won't be disaponted.
