We had a MAGICAL time in Mykines! Oda was such an enormous help in planning our adventure and even met us at the helicopter en route to Mykines. She was flexible with changing times due to the helicopter schedule and made sure that we still got to have a decent hike with puffin sightings galore! Mykines is such a charming little village with supernatural beauty at every turn. Seeing it with a local is absolutely the way to go. We highly recommend visiting Mykines (and anywhere else you can fit in) with Oda! She is so knowledgeable and is able to share a wealth of information about the nature, the culture, and we easily built a great rapport. She knows so very much about the various birds on Mykines and it will greatly enrich your time there.

In mid-August I visited the Faroe Islands for the first time. The main reason for my trip was to visit Mykines to see the puffins. I spent 24 hours on Mykines, with Oda Andreasen of GoLocal.fo as my guide. In addition to seeing many puffins (for the first time), I saw many other seabirds and the rugged natural beauty of Mykines. Oda's expertise and hospitality made this a MAGICAL experience that resonates in my heart every day. I intend to return!

My sister and I took a private tour of Mykines with Oda of Go Local in July to see puffins but it was so much more than that. Oda is so lovely and personable and just a fascinating, super cool person with a joie de vivre and an inspiring amount of energy . We loved getting to know her and hearing about the island, the Faroe Islands, puffins, her life, and the wonderful sustainability efforts she is making for the island. She told us about responsible tourism that isn't only sustainable but also gives back to the community and the land and how important it is to her and to the wonderful Faroe Islands. She spoke so lovingly about the puffins and educated us on all the different birds on the island which was very educational and entertaining. I have added some photos and want to point out that the puffin photos were with a regular lens, not a zoom lens-imagine how close they are and they are just the sweetest cutest little birds. Oda accommodated my sister's vegetarian needs (we got a glorious lunch from the local cafe) and she also took care of my fear of heights without a hint of judgement. She showed us around the beautiful village in Mykines, brought us to see a ton of puffins, took us to a nice remote spot to eat lunch, and also left us alone for a bit to enjoy a bit of time roaming. She was also very responsive to emails and messages and very organized and helpful with our plan. I highly recommend a tour with her.
