There is essentially only 1 restaurant in Abisko, and is located within the Arctic Mountain Lodge (though if you have a car, you can drive a bit to find some alternatives near the Skystation or at Björkliden). Food here is fantastic. The cod fish was so tender and well cooked, and the sauce pairing was excellent. The same can be said for the reindeer. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. We devoured both dishes happily. We had Cloudberries and Brûlée for desserts. The cloudberry was a well thought out and well-presented dessert. The combination of all components eaten together was great. The coffee taste in the ice cream was, in my opinion, a bit too mild and could be stronger. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant and the lodging was great. It set the mood really well especially in winter. Great decorations all around too!

Stopped by this unassuming resteraunt on our hunt for the elusive aurora borealis and boy am I so glad we did. We got here half an hour before the kitchen closed but this wasnt a problem and we were shown to a table and welcomed with impeccable hospitality. I ordered the cod main dish that came with some asparagus and peas, a brown butter hollandaise- just wow and some lovely roast potatoes with the some nuts for crunch. I think this is one of the most memorable plates of food I have ever had. Spectacular. I followed this up with their creme brulee and again this was Spectacular. The scent of the caramelised brown sugar on top sent my taste buds swirling before I had taken even taken a bite. Their drinks were superb and the company I was in was also very fine. The aurora hunt soon took a backseat to the fine food, company and ambience set by this establishment. A must visit if youre ever in this part of the world.

We had an amazing five course Coast to Coast dinner here. Only available Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Of particular note of an appetizer consisting of lichen, horseradish and reindeer tongue that at first glance rather ood was actually quite excellent. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area and we still got out and saw the auroras afterward! Attentive staff and helped us through the non-alcoholic alternatives.
