With only a few days to spend in the Shetland Islands, we booked a 2-day tour with Adventure Shetland and quickly found it was the best way to see the islands. The scenery was stunning! Vibrant wildflowers flowers and gardens were in full bloom. We encountered numerous puffins, Shetland ponies, diverse seabirds, flocks of sheep and sunbathing seals. We learned a lot about the cultural heritage and geology too, such as ancient archaeological sites, Viking history, castles and formation of the islands. We saw many sites from the very southern point, Sumburgh Head, to the northern areas of Unst. Jon Pulley is a very knowledgeable and skilled guide who took great care of us during our time on the islands. The experience was truly magical, unforgettable and far exceeded our expectations. Regardless of how much time you have on Shetland, check in with Jon. He is flexible and very likely can help you make the most of your time. We were fortunate to find Jon and would love to go back in the future.

Jon provided us with a superb tour of Shetland, tailoring the day to the things we wanted to do and remaining flexible to change the plan if we chose to do so. We like to incorporate some challenging walks/hikes into our trips, and Jon didn't disappoint! We spent an amazing day (with incredibly nice weather!) walking the cliff sides, open meadows and remote beaches. Jon's extensive knowledge of the island and its people made the day even more special. He provided historical, political and cultural perspectives to the areas we visited that added greatly to our experience. We learned more about Shetland on that day than we'd ever thought we'd known. Jon is a courteous, good natured and conscientious tour guide. We liked him immediately and consider ourselves fortunate to have him as our guide for Shetland. Highly recommended! Jon will ensure your tour is what you want and will make it the highlight of your visit to Shetland. It certainly was ours!

I’ve always had an interest in Vikings and knew I would be in Scotland for a bit. I jumped on the ferry and headed to the Shetland Islands for a few days. I booked a 2-day tour with Jon and I didn’t set any expectations aside from learning more about another culture and history…. I don’t know if words or photos can ever encapsulate the experience. Even though the snowy weather was unprecedented, Jon adjusted the schedule so I could see as much as possible and do as much as possible. With the passion for history and love for the local culture, I don’t think I could have asked for a better guide and a more amazing experience. Getting to see and learn about things and meet lovely people was a win. Already thinking about when I can come back. Thanks Jon!
