I'm not a fancy guy. I am primarily a 'cheapest possible option' kind of holidaymaker. I've never booked a suite before so booking to stay in the Library Suite was a spur-of-the-moment decision to inject a bit of luxury to our trip up north. The room didn't disappoint. Everywhere you look is absolutely gorgeous wood panelling and hand-carved ornamentation. Immaculately clean and well-presented. The jewel in the crown was the staff, though. Everyone we spoke to was so helpful and chatty. There was a bit of a nightmare rude couple at dinner (and breakfast) and the staff were really patient and professional with them. Really solid team that clearly like working with each other. Dinner was perhaps a smidge pricey for the quality so maaaaybe better to go to the pub. But honestly the vibe of the restaurant is cool and grandiose and you pay a premium for that. Great experience - owners should give the staff a pat on the back.

We loved it, the place is amazingly wonderfull just like the employées. You feel like in an Hercule Poirot and in James Bond at the same time. The food ils good and the employee very kind.

We stayed for an evening at Knockderry and wish we had more time! The king room was spacious, clean and had a wonderful bay window with lots of natural light. There has a lovely sitting room in the hotel to relax over a wine or a book. Dinner at the restaurant was really nice, with the food meticulously prepared and presented and based on local Scottish produce. It was also an absolute treat to be able to walk right up to the waterfront just steps from the front of the hotel!
