Katla Ice Cave Tours Vik - Troll.is meeting point

We took the Katla Ice Cave tour with Troll.is on 12/22/2025, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were provided crampons for our boots, and an able congenial guide in Ricardo, who was clearly interested and well-versed in the formation and history of the glacier and ice cave. We were not rushed, and had time to take quite a few excellent photos to document our trip. Recommend to all able-bodied tourists if you have never done this before; our oldest participant was 74.

5⭐for this Ice cave tour! This was a wonderful experience from start to end. The ride out and back part of the adventure for sure but I loved every second of it. We then got to stop along the way to take some photos of the glacier. Once we arrived to Katla, we began our hike up to the opening of the cave. It is definitely doable for many even those that have a fear of heights. And once you are in the cave it is completely worth it! The blue colors and shapes of the caves are unmatched anything. Our tour guide Jon (5⭐) with all the facts he provided to us about Vík and the flood plaines was amazing! Highly recommend booking an Ice Cave with Troll.is while in Iceland!

We had an amazing glacier tour with our guide, Hawk. He was funny, energetic, and full of fascinating facts. Throughout the tour he shared great stories about the area, the glaciers, and how they have changed over time, both in the past and in the present. His enthusiasm made everything even more enjoyable, and he explained things in a really smooth and engaging way. On the drive back we even put on some music through Spotify, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and personal. Overall, Hawk is an outstanding guide and made the tour truly unforgettable. #jajadingdong #volcanoman
