Very clean, with some nice views. Soup was excellent, you can get a 2nd bowl and try something different. Between my wife and I we had the lava, lamb, and chicken. FYI for all soups in iceland, if you have an Asian palate, you may find soups generally salty. But delicious, just drink some water as you go. The folks behind the counter were very nice and explained everything clearly. For my 2nd bowl I asked for just a little taste but they filled it up almost 3/4 of the bowl anyway. I left also very full.

Located in the same building as The Lava Show, Vik. As the name suggests, the restaurant serves soup! I think the Red Hot Lava Soup and the Icelandic Lamb Soup are the permanent menu items, while the rest changes depends on when you visit them. As such, unfortunately we did not get a chance to eat their Hurry Curry Fish Soup. Overall, we really loved the meal we had here! All the soup we tried was very tasty and well seasoned, and we were very happy with our meal. We get one free refill as well, so we can choose another soup to try per bowl. The Red Hot Lava Soup was not very spicy and it was very flavourful - it was our most favorite of the four we tried. The Lamb Soup had a very strong herb flavour (dill stood out heavily), but was a very hearty clear soup. The Green Garden Chicken Soup had too much celery for my liking, but it was still a very nice soup. Sun Dried Tomato and Feta soup was another favorite of ours.

The Soup Company in Vík is a great spot for a hearty meal. We had the spicy beef stew, which was rich, full of flavour, and came with a generous amount of bread. They even offered a free second serving of soup, which was a nice touch. We also tried the curry chicken panini and it was seriously impressive — easily a top 5 panini for us and a really pleasant surprise. The service was friendly, the restaurant itself is spacious, and it’s super convenient if you arrive in Vík later in the evening since it stays open until around 9pm. Definitely a place we’d recommend if you’re passing through or looking for a warm, filling meal after a long drive.
