Best hotel we've been to in Iceland with very helpful staff who even wake you up at night if Northern lights are showing... only hotel so far with this service. Their home-brewed beer is also excellent. Would love to come again!

Rooms are admittedly a bit dated, but it was spacious, as was the bathroom (I think the only one to have a bathtub and a nice large counter). Seemed to see the same staff over our 2 night stay, most on the younger side, but all friendly and working hard. Breakfast buffet was included and had quite the variety, including hot items, as well as a free coffee machine in the reception area, along with darts and pool table. Has a sauna and two hot tubs outside which were great, even saw the Northern Lights one night! They will do wake up calls if you put your room number on the call list. Downside was mattress was awful, super springy in that it was bouncy but also you could feel every spring poking through, didn’t make for great restful sleep. But the view out our window was of the craters, which was a pleasant surprise. Our radiator did not seem to work at all/well, as we turned it up one morning before we left for the day and it didn’t feel like it had done anything all day long when we returned.

Nice hotel in a good position. Very good buffet dinner, average breakfast. Nice and comfortable room with a view. Unacceptable bathroon with large shower but unusable tiny basin where you cannot fill a small bottle, nor wash your face. Kind and friendly personnel.
