We took the full day on the ice sheet tour (8 hours) in October. It's physically demanding but if you can do it, it's worth the effort. We also took the Russell Glacier tour (4 hours), not as demanding as the ice cap but it does involve a 2 hour hike up and down hills. The glacier is spectacular but make sure you also look at the rocks! These trips are brilliant, fully immersing in raw nature. Our guides were informative, helpful and friendly, speaking English and Danish, possibly other languages too. The sights are like nothing else and there are few opportunities to do something similar anywhere on Earth. If you're planning a trip to Greenland, don't miss Kangerlussuaq and prioritise these excursions. To those complaining about the bus, it's not a luxury coach but few other vehicles would navigate that road! If you want 5 star comfort, book a helicopter tour. If you really want to experience the environment for yourself, these trips are amazing.

With surprising excellent tour guides ! I've sign up for 3 tours: Ice cap 660, sightseeing and Russell BBQ, even weather is not so good (raining or windy), but I enjoy all the trips very much. I was there while hot season just over (end of August 2023), the tour keep running even I'm the only guest 😀. Just remember to contact the tour office to check where is the meeting point. (they won't contact you 😉 ) BBQ is with lamb from south of Greenland and reindeer I've seen them running around. Delicious 😋

On June 27, my husband and I took the 'Full day adventure on the ice sheet' with Albatros Arctic Circle. It was a fantastic day and unbelievably beautiful (even the weather fully cooperated: full sun and no wind :)! We were very fortunate to have Carl as our guide; we truly enjoyed his passion, enthusiasm and professionalism. There were quite some first-time 'crampon users' in our group and Carl explained carefully and thoroughly how to use them. He encouraged everybody, made people aware of adjustments they needed to make and was always there if there was a part that was a bit more tricky. His knowledge about flora, fauna, exploration history and the 'ice' itself was fantastic, and we enjoyed learning so much about the area. The time spent on the ice itself is amazing, it's difficult to describe the beauty and grandeur of this part of nature in words; and it was a privilege to be able to explore this untouched world a little. Thank you Carl, for an unforgettable day!
