What a wonderful experience to end our stay in Kilpisjärvi this week. 3 days of extreme cold, but the guides Ville and Lena were willing to take us out on a snowmobile tour over a frozen lake and bring us to the silence of a white arctic night. Ever so grateful! 💙

I had a great time snowmobiling with Kilpis Safari. I was able to drive the snowmobile myself, not only on easy routes like a flat frozen lake, but also uphill on quite steep slopes. They show you interesting nearby places and also take you to one of the huts, where you can get hot tea and some snacks. If you’re a photographer, here’s a tip: wrap your camera in something warm inside your backpack. Even though my camera was in the backpack, it still froze… it was −20°C, and with the speed on the snowmobile, it felt more like −30°C
