I wanted to check this place out after reading "The Women from Vardø", Kiran Millwood Hargrave. It totally sets the mood for thinking about the past. It's not just about women, you know, guys died for witchcraft too. It's a whole different vibe at night. I get goosebumps in the main hallway. I've been there twice and both times I felt the same thing: freedom is the most important thing in my life.

Poignant. It recalls the 17th century witch trials here reminiscent of Salem in USA. It's tragic the ignorant abuse and violence we sometimes inflict on fellow humans.

An absolute MUST for each visitor to Vardø. Extremely powerful, breathtaking piece of art. Recommended to visit at night!
