Staying at Flatmoen Nature Lodge has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Watching the northern lights dance across the sky from my own private hot tub was an experience I didn’t even realize could be on my bucket list. Absolutely stunning property and rooms. Incredible service. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful!! They go out of their way to ensure a great experience. If you can’t stay the night you should still come see the beautiful property and do a horseback northern lights tour! Super well trained horses and the views are incredible. Genuinely a 20/10 experience!

My girlfriend and I booked a horse riding tour in January and it was absolutely lovely. So we went out on this beautiful fjord horses along the Alta River. The snowy trails were absolutely magics! The horses Tymian and Fjell-bloom are very calm, beeig with them relaxes us a lot! The owner, Johnny, was our guide, and if you want to know more about horses, Norway or farming he is your guy!! We are glad that there is places with passionate peaple like that!

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved everything. The small huts have everything, you need. There is a small kitchen a bathroom, the bed under the stars! We would have loved a small drawer for clothing as there is no storage at all, but I think it’s ok for a couple of days, we made it work. We had a car as the lodge is a little outside of Alta. So we were flexible to go around. But I think you won’t need it. There is a older comment that it could be a little cold in the room. I partially agree. Compared to the outside temperature, it’s never cold. But the heat is very different in the room. It’s colder in the bedside area, but that’s perfect to sleep and you get warm blankets. Jonny welcomed us very nicely and we loved the hospitality. The location of the lodge considering seeing northern lights is also perfect. Oftentimes there were a lot of clouds in Alta but not at the lodge. We saw northern lights ach evening here although the forecast was quite bad. If you search a special experience. This is your place.
