I just went on the Skippers Canyon tour and it was amazing. The driver/tour guide, Lucy, was amazing and full of information on the area. The scenery was unforgettable and we even got to touch snow. We had a lovely morning tea with a scenic backdrop and yummy food. I would recommend this tour to anyone however if you are scared of heights you might have a problem as the dirt tracks are not very wide and at times there is a big drop next to you but the skill of the drivers are really good. Fantastic job Lucy !!!

Huge Thank You to Wolfy, Lucy and Michael for a most spectacular tour of the notorious Skippers Canyon. As a NZ tour driver and guide myself, of a number of years now, Skippers Canyon has been a highlight in my adventures with any of my groups. 21 of us in 3 vehicles, great stories, lots of thrills and laughter, great care, some of the most mind-blowing scenery and outstanding photo opportunities. Our 2 hour drive into Skippers Canyon was hands down the highlight of our 2 week tour of the most beautiful New Zealand! Our driver, Wolfie, has been driving this tour for 20 years, and he knows every twist and turn of this narrow road. He knew so much about the goldmining history of this area, and the evolution of the natural resources. We stopped at the historic Skippers School for a spot of wine and cheese tasting (no wine for the driver though!). The scenery was nothing short of spectacular. Highly recommend, and maybe you'll be lucky enough to get Wolfie for your driver!
