Ukko-Luosto Scenic Hut, Day-use Hut, Aurora hut

Visited today, great place for a break, sit down or warm up. Didn't use the fire though. It was just getting dark when I got there and the snow started coming down hard. There are 2 sets of steps to help you up the route I went (170 odd altogether). They had been 8 visitors today. Views are probably amazing, but it was too cloudy today. If going in winter, dress appropriately etc, I had to put a rain coat on halfway up.

Beautiful new day cabin with an incredible view all around. Open all year round, 24 hrs, free entrance. The perfect spot to watch Northern lights, go stargazing or have a break in winter. The cabin has lots of room, information on several topics, big windows and a glass sky window. Outhouse (toilet) adjacent. It is not meant to spend the night but I already encountered a party that was! Free electricity and a nice stove to warm up the cabin. The trail up is steep, well maintained, not lighted. Some parts are so steep that gravel can make you loose grip. Sturdy hiking shoes are advised and descending sideways on the steepest parts. In autumn bring a headlight. I hope we can enjoy the cabin for a long time and that everyone will respect the hiking etiquette 🙏🏼💚

A great light spot to sit and soak in the view, also a very welcome rest from the cold and wind.
