This place is bumpin' on lunch hour, and I imagine at other times of the day too. Big, generous sandwiches but more pricey than down south, but more food is more expensive here than south Canada. I had a dirty chai, it was good. They have tables, bar seating and sofa, at noon all the tables were taken. Lots of books on a bookshelf. And self serve water, maybe even drip coffee refills, but not sure. Parking lot out front, staircase or ramp to get up to cafe front door. Energetic, lively music. They call your name when your drink is ready. They had a caribou and shrimp spring roll offering, very cool and uniquely Nunavut.

My brother and I visited the place at 1405 Masak Ct A, Iqaluit, NU for the first time, and we were genuinely impressed by both the food and the service. We each ordered a Tuktu Burger, wanting to try something different and unique to the region. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They greeted us with a smile and answered our questions patiently, which immediately made us feel comfortable. The burgers didn’t take long to arrive at our table, which was great considering it was our first time there and we didn’t know what to expect. When we tried them, we were pleasantly surprised: the flavor was excellent, the portion sizes were just right, and you could tell that the ingredients were fresh and well-prepared. It’s clear that they care about delivering a quality dining experience. After we finished eating, one of the staff members kindly came to collect our empty plates, a simple gesture that shows good customer service. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. If you're in Iqaluit and want to enjoy something tasty and well made, I definitely recommend stopping by and trying the Tuktu Burger. Without a doubt, they deserve 5 stars.

Imagine discovering your favourite coffee North of the 60th parallel in what is now my favourite café, “Black Heart Café” in Iqaluit, Nunavut. The artistically prepared fresh food and baked goods paired with Equator coffee in a friendly warm inviting ambience is a favourite memory of my trip there. The “Equator Coffee - North Star Expresso” blend is exactly as described, “Sweet, smooth, and silky, this espresso roast shines bright and leads the way to a better day.” It is my better start to everyday with a rich flavour that always brings back the ambience and joy of “Black Heart Café”. I hope to return there again. I think Equator Coffee should make Black Heart Café, the official home for “North Star Expresso”!
