Winter vacation of a lifetime to Alaska to see the Northern lights. And got to experience the Mantanuska Glacier hike with Bill & Derek. Epically Awesome!!! Snow started falling and as weather conditions declined our safety was #1 priority from the hotel pickup/drop off, making sure we had the right equipment to ensuring we all were comfortable during the hike. Bill and Derek shared their knowledge of the glacier, provided time to pause and take photos and answered questions along the way. Truly an epically awesome experience to last a lifetime! Vacation of a lifetime! We took the Northern Lights Getaway to Fairbanks. Harrison was our guide. I can't say enough about him or the tour. While it seems a little expensive at first, the trip was well worth every penny. Its a curated tour with an expert guide that arranges everything: accommodations, food, transportation, and activities. We took the first tour of the season in early December and it was COLD (-25 at times, plus wind chill). But every effort was made to keep us warm and happy during our adventures. Harrison was very knowledgable, caring, communicative, and attentive to detail. There was a lot to do, but it was balanced with time to relax or explore. We never felt bored, but sometimes a little tired. The aurora viewing runs late (or actually early into the next day). This is an adventurous and active tour, but the four retired couples in our group had no difficulty keeping up. My wife and I had an amazing time. I highly recommend this tour company and Harrison made the trip for us. #findyouralaska

Wow! We are world travelers and have experienced many tour guides but this couple is at the top of our favorite list! Derek & Rachel were the friendliest, most real people we've ever had the honor of making life changing memories with. The Manatuska Glacier all day tour was like going on a hike on a glacier with our family. Such genuine people who truly love what they do. Their passion for what they do is infectious and made the tour so much more thrilling. I would not want to take the tour again if I couldn't go with them. They came right to our hotel to pick us up, drove us an hour to stop for a break while explaining the sights all around. We drive another hour to the glacier and told us on the drive what to expect and all the does & dont's when walking on the glacier. They were very professional, safe, and willing to work with the group based on the group's wants & desires along the way. The views were spectacular on the glacier, they made us feel very safe and explained everything we were doing & about to do along the way. After the incredible hike we had an amazing lunch at the Long Rifle Lodge where you sat in the restaurant looking out over the front of the glacier. Majestic views and great conversation was had at the end of the tour. We then took the 2 hour drive back to Anchorage where they left us with great recommendations on where to eat and do things. This was the start of our week here in Alaska and Derek & Rachel have set the bar very high. Salmon Berry Tours- you have a couple of gems. Take good care of them!
