Zodiac Landings in Antarctica
2 PolarTourist destination records in Antarctica include zodiac landings. Inflatable Zodiac boat transfers from expedition ship to remote shorelines, landing on beaches inaccessible by larger vessels and getting you as close as regulations permit to wildlife. The primary way to access Antarctica's most remote landing sites, where you may step ashore among tens of thousands of penguins. Always follow expedition guide briefings on wildlife distances — 5 metres minimum from penguins, but they often approach you. The activity record lists November to March as a broad season; local dates can differ by destination and operator.

Practical Tips for Zodiac Landings in Antarctica
- 1Check current operating dates and availability directly; the broad November to March season does not prove that every provider runs on your dates.
- 2Match clothing and footwear to the destination forecast, exposure time, and operator guidance rather than relying on a generic polar kit.
- 3Confirm pickup point, duration, group size, equipment, physical requirements, and cancellation terms before paying.
- 4Check whether your travel insurance covers this specific activity, destination, and cancellation scenario.
- 5Compare the activity itself with the wider Antarctica itinerary; a suitable base is not automatically the best tour or provider.
